If you guessed that a group with a name like “Hags on Nags” likes to have a good time, you’d be right. Hags on Nags was founded in 2002 by a handful of women who decided to greet middle age by making time for themselves and reclaiming their common passion for horses. A decade later, membership has climbed to over 200 women from Wisconsin and surrounding states.
Hags on Nags is a loosely-organized group of women of all ages and from all walks of life. We are guided by three main principles – have fun, learn and give back. We have raised money to fight breast cancer through the Pink Ribbon Ride for the Cure, and have supported initiatives to improve trails, develop horse campgrounds and benefit therapeutic riding facilities and horse rescues. HON members enjoy clinics developed by members, for members, including Horse Camping 101, Confidence Building, and First Aid and Self Defense on the Trail.
Most of all, the Hags on Nags Saddle Club is about fun! HON members love hanging out together, participating in equine- and non-equine-related activities alike, from trail riding, camping and riding in parades to going to movies, shopping and the Hags on Nags book club. All levels of riders are welcomed…a sense of humor is required!
